My mission is to facilitate a positive, engaging, and transformative learning environment for your child’s music education through their chosen instrument. As said by jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis “Education is the key to nurturing young artistic talent”
The positive music-making experiences and technical support I offer allow new and intermediate musicians to participate in a music-making journey by engaging in musicianship and aural skills along the way.
Create a positive teaching environment.
Structure lessons to cater to individual talents.
Foster enjoyment of music lesson by lesson.
Develop positive relationships through music learning and experiences.
Students will develop individual instrument techniques catered to their chosen style.
With Jazz Performance experience in Trombone playing I have developed a strong understanding of brass music. This informs a well-rounded programme offered to brass students.
My experience in New Zealand community and national choirs as well as examination work have given me the skills and confidence to encourage students to find new ways to explore vocal music, including techniques used in Operatic styles and Jazz.
I have many years of experience with Trinity College London examinations, through which I have acquired a depth of experience in musical theory, sight reading, posture, and playing technique. I can confidently perform in solo, chamber trio, or orchestral groups, providing my students with both the confidence and the skills to advance their Violin skillset practically.
